Meet Milly
Milly is a 1 year old Olde English Bulldog. Her father is very large, over 100lbs, and her body is trying to keep up with the rapid growth of a large breed dog. The clinical name for growing pains is PANOSTEITIS, it often resolves with the end of the growth cycle at approximately 1 1/2 years. As the body is adjusting to this rapid growth and accompanying pain in the joints, the dog will compensate with an uneven gate. I used massage techniques to help balance the tension and tightness in the opposite limbs and used passive range of motion to help stretch and strengthen the compensating limbs that exhibited a "limp".
